Welcome to the sleep, emotion & development lab !

The lab focuses on why sleep has an essential impact on our everyday functioning, and has two main lines of research.

The first line of research of the lab is investigating in-depth brain mechanisms related to sleep that contribute to shaping the human cognitive and emotional functioning. To do so, we use techniques such as fMRI and EEG, which help us investigate brain correlates or dynamics of particular processes, during or after sleep. We typically focus on memory reactivation during sleep, memory consolidation after sleep, learning, and emotional regulation.

The second line of research of the lab aims at promoting sleep in vulnerable population, specifically adolescents and young adults. Indeed, due to various social and biological reasons, these populations tend to sleep less both qualitatively and quantitatively. It is therefore essential to help them have a better sleep by establishing healthier habits, hence shaping future generations with more functional foundations.
